Kat Frick Miller graduated from NSCAD University in 2009 and now works as an artist and illustrator in her Lunenburg studio and at the Lunenburg Makery.
Kat's imagery is cultivated through historical and first hand research into the cultural history of a region. She collects reference material, primarily firsthand, sometimes drawing on historical documents available trough research facilities. Within her ongoing work she is conducting research through the archive of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, exploring the fishing trade and export history as it affected Lunenburg County.
Her work is inspired by the small details in everyday life and the extraordinary adventures she has exploring Atlantic Canada.
