LUNENBURG

If you’ve never been to Lunenburg then you’ve never experienced a true east coast town. A UNECSO world heritage site, Lunenburg is home to old restored sea captain’s houses, a working waterfront, delicious restaurants, eclectic shops and galleries, Maritime pride & people and, of course, the Bluenose II.

We are so proud to call this place our home. You’ll find us nestled in the heart of the town, on it’s main street. Our neighbours are some of mainstays of the place: Down Home Living & Jenny Jib – both gift shops that have stood the test of time, the post office, the coffee shops and even the local dollar store.

The whole town is easily walkable (some large hills not permitting), so you’ll be able to see everything in one day. From our side of town down to the popular Monatgue Street (home to most restaurants and tourist shops as well as book and clothing stores) to King Street (the so-called UNESCO Fresco for its colourful restored buildings) to the working waterfront (home to the Maritime Museum), you can easily make a day trip. You must of course visit Ironworks Distillery and sample their artisan liquors and liqueurs, hike the hill up to the Academy – known locally as the Castle on the Hill and then take a short drive to Blue Rocks, a teeny but quaint fishing village where you can rent a kayak and grab some ice cream from The Point General.
